Marley Man

Gracie slid down half and ran down the rest

The day after thanksgiving we needed to stretch our legs so we headed to the park. We got some great pictures. The kids just love having 5 adults to play with at the park. We all had fun.
Gracie picked up lots of sticks and Marley ate lots of sand.

It's really Fall!

Douglas was busy at work making some amazing food

Gracie was very excited to eat!

I miss the beautiful fall leaves in Utah, but it feels like fall is finally here!
We had such a great Thanksgiving in Odessa with Grandma and Grandpa Williams and Uncle Leroy. Between Riley and Douglas we had some pretty amazing food! Of course I ate way too much pie, but Douglas makes great pumpkin pie and Riley made killer pecan pie with pecans he collected and shelled himself. Everything was so fresh and rich! I've been full for 2 days. The kids had a great time and Gracie especially loved the ham. Marley ate everything we put in front of him except the green beans. He's such a great little eater. We're happy to have the Williams family close by. We miss all the Sessions side, but we're grateful to have Grandma and Grandpa Sessions coming for Christmas.
Life is going well. Douglas is just about finished with his semester and we are looking forward to the extra time we'll have together. I'm having fun running around with the kids. They make me happy and crazy and I have to laugh alot! Gracie says funny things that are very insightful and she's a different princess every day. Marley started walking 2 weeks ago and he is very steady. He can really get around the house, which means he's into everything. He loves raiding the pantry and I have to hide my purse from him if I want to keep it in tact. He has been saying a few words like wassat, whoisit, hello, and papa for Douglas. We feel really blessed this time of year as we think of all our blessings. We have a lot to be thankful for.

This is our fall harvest. During our vacation in August the garden really didn't appreciate our absence. I pulled out all the dead plants and left the tomatoes and peppers even though they weren't doing so well. I watered them sporadically for a month or so and then I got busy with school and forgot about it. Well, the temperature here got really nice and the plant flourished with out my help. So, a couple of weeks ago I pulled all of this out of the garden. I pickled the cherry and banana peppers and roasted and canned the green chillies. We use the green peppers and tomatoes in random stuff. The crazy thing is we still are picking peppers and tomatoes and Thanksgiving is in two weeks!!!

Gracie's funny thought

Today breakfast was crazier than most for some reason. Marley threw his milk on the floor over and over splashing little white drops all over the chair legs and floor. He spit every bite of his applesauce at me and laughed about it. Gracie was talking a hundred miles a minute and not paying any attention to her cereal and I finally broke down! I started crying and needed some consoling from Douglas, who was getting ready for school. Gracie looked at me very concerned and asked " Mommy, why are you crying? Did you have too much water?" I guess it was exactly what I needed because it made me laugh. It would make perfect sense to cry when your body has too much water. She's a thoughtful little girl. I feel much better now.
Over the last week Gracie has been calling me Aurora and she prefers to be called Ariel, so after I cried she hugged me and said "It's okay Aurora, don't cry." She's very sweet. It's amazing how kids can cause you to feel such strong emotions.

Both Gracie and Marley love this doll. Gracie is playing mom and changing the baby's poopy diaper. Marley just learned how to give kisses. It's so sweet! Plenty of slobber.

More Halloween fun!

On Halloween Gracie got to dress up and go trick-or-treating twice. First at therapy, and then again that night. She's was very excited. At one door the couple answered with monkey and giraffe masks on. Gracie talked about it all night. We had so much fun all week! We're sad that it's over. But, we're looking forward to thanksgiving!
